Winter causes blues to most of us, as it brings about a lot of challenges to maintain our complexions. It is generally associated with dry skin and different skin ailments like itching, scaling, chapping and eczema. However, if you follow certain tips, you are absolutely certain to get rid of those blues in the coming winter season.
During the winter season, skin dryness occurs as the oil glands produce less moisture than usual. So, it is advisable to avoid the use of soap and instead use milk with some drops of lime and a little turmeric powder to clean your face.
You can mix some amount of rose water with coconut or olive oil and massage you body with it before you take a bath. This would ensure that you have a soft and glowing skin despite the cold weather.
Intake of food with high amount of vitamin A is also recommended to avoid scaling. For people who develop eczema it is advisable to use the squeezed oil taken from ground walnut paste on the affected area a few times on a daily basis.
Excessive dryness in winter also causes what is known as the winter’s itch. It generally affects the arms and legs and is caused by various reasons such as dietary deficiency, too little exposure to sun, too many hot baths and excessive use of soap and scents. The winter’s itch can be reduced by using two tablespoons of curd and olive oil mixed with a few drops of essence of rose.
If you follow these tips, you are certain not to miss any get-together or parties that you may have done otherwise this winter.
